Sparkletunity
When Gracious Home, New York City’s authority on all things luxury home, approached me to write a story highlighting one of their textile designers, I started wracking my brain for how to make pillows interesting. Then I met Aviva Stanoff.
I had the amazing opportunity to interview Aviva and learn about her world as an artist and entrepreneur. This story provides an intimate look into not only the inspiration behind her cutting-edge designs but the inspiration with which she lives her every day life.
Here’s an excerpt, but check out the full article to learn more about Aviva and what she calls “Sparkletunity”.
From tending the flower plots around her grandfather’s Buddhist temple in Japan to roaming ancient redwoods and beaches of her childhood home, Aviva Stanoff has always felt a connection to the natural world. All of this combined with 15 years designing textiles in New York City has given this thought-provoking designer a unique edge.
Aviva Stanoff’s background is anchored in textiles. Trained in fashion design, she was bringing the runways to life at night while still completing her MFA during the day. Though this experience gave her an exceptional eye for color and form, she ultimately found that clothing proved too small a canvas. The scale of her vision was better suited for the home, and she moved into soft goods, bringing positive energy to the lives of her clients.
